We Build A Top 10 List Of Terrible Entertainment
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Boredom hits, and suddenly you’re one scroll away from losing an hour or one “fun night out” away from spending money you didn’t plan to spend. We decide to stop pretending every popular pastime is automatically good and build a brutally honest Top 10 list of the worst forms of entertainment, using a hat draw to force the debate. The result is funny, a little unhinged, and way more relatable than we expected.
We dig into doomscrolling and social media algorithms that are engineered for compulsion, including the infuriating reality of people scrolling while driving. Then we go after clout culture with pranks for views and the uncomfortable side of staged “kindness content,” where strangers become props and the camera becomes the point. We also talk reality TV and daytime TV as background misery that somehow keeps getting renewed.
From there, we zoom out to expensive crowd-based entertainment: bars that attract bad decisions, outdoor music festivals that cost a fortune for sweat and long lines, and the cultural pressure to take little kids to Disney before it even makes sense. We even hit sports culture and sports betting, plus the creeping threat of AI music pushing out real artists. If you’ve ever wondered why certain “fun” leaves you tired, irritated, or numb, this one puts words to it.
Listen, then share your own worst form of entertainment and tell us what you’d rank at number one. If you like the show, subscribe, share it with a friend, and leave a quick review.

Boredom Sparks A Worst List
SPEAKER_00I'm bored! What can we do? I need entertainment. I'm a Gen Z kid. What should I do? Today we're talking about the worst forms of entertainment. We're gonna start by listing our top five, each of us Jackson. Give me your top five worst forms of entertainment.
SPEAKER_01Number one, the UFC. Yeah, two, bars, three social media, four AI music, five outdoor music festivals.
SPEAKER_02I got doom scrolling, sports, roller coasters, because I don't want to die, uh watching reality TV and pranking people for views. Nice, right? I hate those videos.
SPEAKER_00Me too.
SPEAKER_03This is the one that'll get me canceled. Okay football.
SPEAKER_00Oh, true. Stupid.
SPEAKER_03Outdoor festivals, not just music festivals, all of them. If it's outside with a bunch of people and it's expensive, I'm not gonna go. Yeah. Bars, Disney with little children, facts, and daytime TV, which I don't think you guys can relate to, but if we pull it out of the hat, I'll elaborate.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I've got strip clubs. Never been to one, but I am smart enough to know one of the worst forms of entertainment in this world, and we'll talk about it more once we get there. Especially if it's guys. Okay. We'll talk about it more if we get there. Let me elaborate on it right now. Two, sports. All sports.
SPEAKER_03I love it's just sports. You guys both said that. Just all of them.
SPEAKER_00Sports, all of them. Three, bars and drinking. Uh four, outdoor music festivals. And five.
SPEAKER_03Car racist! Let's watch a car go around in circles. Zoom!
SPEAKER_02Zo! Zoom! That guy's my favorite because he goes a little bit faster than the other guy.
SPEAKER_00Wait, I don't understand this. If he gets over the line first, does he win?
SPEAKER_01The engines make me wet.
SPEAKER_03Not watching that car.
SPEAKER_00So we're gonna pick these out of a hat, place them without knowing what is coming next, and pick our top 10 worst entertainment of all time. I'm Josh. I'm Rachel. I'm COVID. I'm Jackson. And this is Relatively Terrible. I love
The Hat Draw And Roller Coasters
SPEAKER_00you, but you're all terrible. Welcome back to the Relatively Terrible Podcast. We are the Uploads of Fun Family questioning culture with comedy and just enough dysfunction to feel normal.
SPEAKER_04I bring it for you!
SPEAKER_00Let's start it off. First one. Come on, sports. Roller coasters. Ten.
SPEAKER_03Come on. Roller coasters, like I know you guys don't like them. It's not ten, though. Yes, it is. But roller coasters, you now listen. What about I guess those are technically roller coasters.
SPEAKER_01I'll go with I'll I'll say 10 because even though I don't like heights, there are some roller coasters I find enjoyable. It's not all of them, but some of them.
SPEAKER_00Thanks, Grandpa!
SPEAKER_03What about like the Iron Dragon one?
SPEAKER_00I'm gonna go with uh 10, because there's some roller coasters I enjoy. Would you lack a word of this?
SPEAKER_02But like that one I don't consider a roller coaster.
SPEAKER_03But it is.
SPEAKER_02And see, that's stupid. Because that, and then you're also telling me the one that's like 20 feet in the air is like they're the same thing. They're in the same thing.
SPEAKER_03They're a lot more than 20 feet in the air.
SPEAKER_02Whatever, whatever. But you're telling me that they're in the same category? That's just stupid. Okay.
SPEAKER_03I just think out of everything else that we have, they're 10. I mean, you can move it when we get to the bonus round, but let's put it at 10.
SPEAKER_00I think that was a great point. Bonus round, and let's let's keep it going. Number one, the first one we picked always takes, we always discuss it the longest.
SPEAKER_03It really, yeah. I'm I'm gonna be happy
Daytime TV And Strip Clubs Debate
SPEAKER_03with anything else we choose. It all belongs on the list. Okay, daytime TV. So what is that? So when I think of daytime TV.
SPEAKER_00You guys don't even they haven't even experienced this.
SPEAKER_01So daytime TV of what it is, though. It's like it's like Jeopardy. It's it's uh what's that stupid show? Oh, what's that stupid? The price is right.
SPEAKER_03It is the price is right, the price is right, it's soap operas, yeah, it's commercials, it's the court, the courtroom shows. Like, think about when you go to a doctor's office if there's a TV. Like what is playing in there? It is depressing AS.
SPEAKER_00Oh, it's making me cringe.
SPEAKER_03I can't like daytime TV, just turn the TV off and do something else. Like it terrible.
SPEAKER_01Jax, where do you want to put it? I would say eight because how even though it's bad, yeah, I don't encounter it that often.
SPEAKER_03Agreed.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, or eat we don't even anymore. Eight.
SPEAKER_03Eight. I'll do that.
SPEAKER_01I'll do eight. Wow, we agree.
SPEAKER_02Here we go, Help. It's a miracle. All right. Um, we got oh, strip clubs. One.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I would say it's the one of the worst form of entertainment.
SPEAKER_01Even as a feminist myself, I don't think putting those on in front of a bunch of men is culturally appropriate anymore. It should just be online only.
SPEAKER_00Plus, speaking of things that they say straight guys do, Jackson brought up the best point ever against strip clubs, and he's 17. He's never been to one. I've never been to one because I'm not an idiot. Because I don't want to go to a place with a bunch of my guy friends, get horny and then leave with my guy friends. How gay is that?
SPEAKER_03And do we not see how stupid this is? Yeah, it's like going to a restaurant hungry and not getting any food. Right! Yeah, you just leave hungry. Like, why is that entertaining? I I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_00Plus, the TV shows are any indication if you try to touch, you're gonna get your arm broke.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Which you should. Yeah. It's all messy. I mean, like, control yourself in front of a naked woman who's gyrating in front of you. Oh.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00That's a horrible word. Gyrates.
SPEAKER_03Gyrating?
SPEAKER_00Oh.
SPEAKER_03Or naked.
SPEAKER_00Gyrating. Naked's fun. I'm good with naked. I draw the line at gyrates.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so strip clubs is number one. Number one. All right. We knocked out number one every time.
SPEAKER_01Jackson, pick. And if you want a meal, you gotta pay extra.
SPEAKER_03All right,
Doomscrolling Disney Pranks And AI Music
SPEAKER_03time to go.
SPEAKER_01Pick, daddy. Same thing at a restaurant. Doom scrolling. Ooh, three.
SPEAKER_00That's a top five.
SPEAKER_03I think it's a top five. What do you think, Jackson?
SPEAKER_00Top five. Uh I hate it for myself. I know that.
SPEAKER_03I I catch myself and then I realize how much time I've wasted.
SPEAKER_00I mean, it's definitely not as bad as strip clubs.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But um, it's its own poison. Uh, I would say four. Yeah, four. I would, you know, I would go five.
SPEAKER_00I'm okay with four. I I'm not totally bashing social media because that's in here too. But I will when I have to. But they have built these apps to get people to do this. And that's why people are now even doing this in their car while they're driving. And I'm just, I I people that do that make me sin more often than anyone else in this world. I just I that's when I get murder in my heart because I don't know how you can do that as a person, a human being. You're so selfish that you need to scroll while you're driving.
SPEAKER_03And I think that's why it's top five. And like a strip club, you have to like intentionally go there. Yeah. Whereas you can do scroll almost at any time. And people are doing it at almost any time. So it's it's like you said it perfectly, it's its own form of poison.
SPEAKER_00Disney with little kids. Oh, six.
SPEAKER_02I don't think that's a top five thing. I think we've never done it. There's worse, but it's six.
SPEAKER_00Can I just explain something real quick or you unless you want to? No, go ahead. I don't want people to hate on us for this, but I also want to give young parents out there some advice and also I think some wisdom and knowledge. You don't have to take your kids to Disney when they're little. You will, even if they're older and you can't afford it, you are not less of a parent because you you don't go to Disney. No one gives a shit. Disney just wants your money. And your rich friends and your affluent people that you're around say, we gotta go to Disney. Disney actually sucks. If you do have the money, go to Universal. Don't waste it on Disney.
SPEAKER_03And even Universal, I would make the argument would be very challenging with small kids.
SPEAKER_00You gotta wait till they're age appropriate. Some kids might be ready when they're three.
SPEAKER_03Right. I just I just picture when we've been to Disney, when we went to Disney that one time, when we've been to Universal, and you see parents with strollers and diaper bags, and a kid who's sweaty and crying, and they just want to nap, and it's like you've spent all this money for not that much enjoyment. For not that much enjoyment and for something the kid's not gonna remember. And I've heard the argument so many times about building memories with your kids. I'm sorry, you're not doing it for the kid, you're doing it for you.
SPEAKER_01You know what I was doing at three? I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Listen, that's a great point, but also kids are kids, yeah, and what you do with them to have fun, they're gonna enjoy. Yeah, they don't know that Disney's even there. So if you're if you don't bring it up and be like, yeah, I wish we could go to Disney, but we're poor, they're not gonna know. But you're the one driving the way that they think, and you're not setting them up for success. And I just hate to see young parents struggle with this. I know I did a little bit at first, thinking we can't take our kids to Disney or Universal.
SPEAKER_03It's very unnecessary. There are so many things as a parent to legitimately feel guilty about that Disney does not need to be one of them. And I just I witnessed too many parents looking like they had just escaped World War III. And why? Like, you don't need to do that. You don't need to do that, Jason. Where are we putting this? So, you guys what said six?
SPEAKER_01I yeah, I would say seven because you were smart enough not to do it. Let's go seven. I like that logic. That's good logic.
SPEAKER_00Well, we just got some brownie points. That's good. Who's next? Brownie points.
SPEAKER_03I think it's me.
SPEAKER_00I don't know why they're called brownie points.
SPEAKER_03I'm what I don't know where that term came from.
SPEAKER_00What's the next one?
SPEAKER_03Okay, here we go. Pranking people for views.
SPEAKER_00Top five, it has to be. Yeah, I would also include in this. Can we include kindness content?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, can we include kindness content? Yeah, I the videos I'm talking about is when in the store they have a camera set up and people walk by and they prank them. I just, you know, you don't know what that person has been through. You don't know what their day is like. So if you prank them at the wrong time, they could break your arm.
SPEAKER_01And let me just let me just.
SPEAKER_03Or you could just break them.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, like and let me just tell you, I work at a retail store. If you do a prank or some shit like that to me, oh, we act properly. You do that to one of my coworkers, you're getting punched in the face, mother effer. Let me just tell you.
SPEAKER_00Like, I know, like, don't just don't do it. Andy Melanakis, which was he had the Andy Melanakis show, and he was the first of his kind, it first of all like viral video people before it was even a thing. And he has the greatest thing to say about this. If you're gonna do a prank in public, you have to be the butt of the joke, not someone else. He did it wrong, and even then, you're right, you can get your ass kicked. Yeah, you can get shot, you just don't know. Calvin's right, you don't know what people can what people are going through. You gotta do it.
SPEAKER_03How many times have I gone to Kroger to get something because you guys are all sick at home? Or, you know, somebody just got out of the hospital. Like, again, you don't know what people have been through, and you pick a terrible time to do this to see.
SPEAKER_02Yep. Yeah, like that's just no. It's just rude in general. Yeah, and it's like entertaining to me to watch. No, so let's do five. That's fine with me. Yeah, it's top five.
SPEAKER_00Pranks for views slash, I would say kindness content goes in there, but that's you know, it is what it is. Yeah. Who's next?
SPEAKER_02Calvin. I got AI music.
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's pretty bad. Nine. As much as I hate it, I'll go nine because personally I can tell when it's AI. Yeah, you can avoid avoid it.
SPEAKER_00I mean, it's one of those things that you can avoid pretty easily, but what I don't like is people taking credit that they made music because they didn't. That's just sickening. And it's also sickening how Spotify is now pushing their own AI music above like people who are real artists. And it's this is it's nine right now, but in a couple years it could be two.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Strip
Sports Culture Gambling And Obsession
SPEAKER_00clubs will always be one. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Okay, Jax.
SPEAKER_01Oh, sports. Two, two sports suck. Let me just tell you something. All different types of sports are bad in some way, shape, or form. Because not only is the sport itself we don't care about, but then you have the whole other side of it. You have the game, you have the betting on sports, you have all the partying and drinking because people are. I mean, some people's lives revolve around specific teams, and if they win, and it's like you're pathetic. That is absolutely come on.
SPEAKER_00This is a proud episode for me.
SPEAKER_01It's hearing a lot of sports.
SPEAKER_03For as much as like we're like focusing on how much we hate stuff, it's funny to me how in agreement though we all are about how much we hate these things.
SPEAKER_00Because I I was gonna say about the corruption that sports brings in college sports, in pro sports with all the gambling and everything. What were you gonna say, Cal?
SPEAKER_02Oh, we uh we went to basketball camp and stuff, and yeah, I didn't enjoy it.
SPEAKER_01Didn't care for it. And then, like, I remember in school, like m one of my teachers told a story about how one of her old uh students got into gambling and stuff, and uh he was a bookie and he shot up some of his people that he took bets from because he lost. Yep, and it just yeah, I just don't like sports, and that's why I put the UFC at my number one because the sport is quite literally just to beat each other up as best as you can.
SPEAKER_00Yep, there's literally a famous scene, and I don't know this is an urban legend, but I I don't I it might be true. But the famous scene of Michael Jordan crying on his on the trophy, it's the third one he won because they say his dad was killed that day because his dad lost a bet on that game. Michael Jordan knew and still won. And if he didn't win, his dad would have been alive. It's an urban legend, but it's a it's one that's stuck around.
SPEAKER_03And I think, you know, and again, like there's so many different facets to this. We don't enjoy playing them, we don't really enjoy watching them. And I, you know, I get really tired of hearing about how bad the economy is doing and everything when all of these stadiums continue to sell out, you know, and you see people drinking, paying $17 for piss poor beer at the end of the day.
SPEAKER_01And then you get into the whole politics of it on how the WNBA, and then you get into all that garbage. Come on.
SPEAKER_02And the people who pay for like, you know, court seats, lateral seats, 10 grand, maybe even more. And then they wonder why they're poor. And it's like, dude.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. So it's a whole, it's like every facet of sports, we seem to have a problem.
SPEAKER_01Okay, so we got two left, three and six. If the cheerleaders start wearing less, they might become worse than here.
SPEAKER_00We go
Social Media Festivals Bonus Round
SPEAKER_00social media.
SPEAKER_01Oh geez. Six six.
SPEAKER_00Six. Six social media, that's a tough one because that's what we do for a living. But I feel like everything we do and talk about is is the anti-social media, and it sucks how the algorithms pull people in, it sucks how the algorithms treat creators, how it divides people. Yeah, it is just another tool that politics and things use for evil. So it's one of those things where it's really, really good, but it's also really, really bad. Yep. So I I think six is appropriate.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. All right, last one. What's this will be number three?
SPEAKER_00Number three.
SPEAKER_03We gotta get bars on here. Okay, here we go. Outdoor music festivals.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. As much as I mean, we just saw D Purple not too long ago. It would have been better if it were inside. Yeah. It would have been not sweating, not at just there was a guy that threw up not too far away from us because he was so take that experience and multiply it by a lot.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, multiply by like 10 hours. That's an outdoor music festival.
SPEAKER_03And a lot more money, too. They're super expensive.
SPEAKER_02It's just the problem with festivals. I have never come across a music festival where I'm like, I want to see all those bands.
SPEAKER_00And you won't, because that's why they do it. They want to get everyone there. There's probably like five bands that you want to see, and it's gonna take you all day to see them. Yep, thank you.
SPEAKER_03Multiple are playing at the same time.
SPEAKER_00Or that too.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it just and and and even more than just music festivals, even like there was that barbecue fest here, and it's like it's expensive to get in, and then you get in and you don't even get food.
SPEAKER_01I why why are we doing it? Let's go walk around and smell good stuff but can't eat any of it.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh! Why?
SPEAKER_01It's a dumbed down strip club.
SPEAKER_00All right, here are the honorable mentions watching reality TV, car races, bars slash drinking, and the UFC. Oh. Alright, uh, let's let Jackson go first this time.
SPEAKER_02If you get rid of roller coasters, I'm fine with that.
SPEAKER_00Here we are at the bonus round.
SPEAKER_01Go ahead, Jax. All right, well, outdoor festivals cannot be at number three. I'm willing to switch it, but it can't be at number three. Okay. I'm gonna have to put bars at number three. Anytime there is a news report about a bar, it's never anything good. No. You could just cross out outdoor festivals. As much as I would never go to one, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Bars are worse.
SPEAKER_01Bars are worse. Way worse.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I think I'm crossing out AI and putting reality TV. Fair enough. How do you spell reality? Never mind, I got it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I am gonna get rid of roller coasters.
SPEAKER_04But what?
SPEAKER_03I'm trying to decide if I want to put uh car races. I mean, they're really dumb.
SPEAKER_04Really dumb.
SPEAKER_03Uh I don't get it. I don't understand the hype around watching a car race around a track. But maybe I'll put outdoor festivals back on and put it at 10. Okay.
SPEAKER_00So social media is dominating this list too much. You got we've got doom scrolling, pranks reviews, and social media.
SPEAKER_03Uh social media should go.
SPEAKER_00So I'm gonna get rid of social media and put car races.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Car races is one of the when I was thinking of this, that's like one of the dumbest things ever.
SPEAKER_02I mean For the people in here. If you if a car and another car collide, there's a chance you don't make it. Oh, it's happened. Now, there is a great animated movie based on car races. Turbo.
SPEAKER_00Anyways, here's our what? That's a great movie. I thought he was gonna say cars.
SPEAKER_04Oh, turbo's fan.
SPEAKER_00All right, here's our top ten worst forms of entertainment lists. Woo! At 10, we've got outdoor music festivals, nine, reality TV, eight, daytime TV, seven, Disney with little kids, six, car races, five, pranks for views, four, doom scrolling, three, bars, two, sports, and one, strip clubs. There you have it. I'm I'm fine with that.
SPEAKER_01I'm good with that. I'm good with that list. The thing is, we just hate so much that we're going to do.
Favorite Entertainment To End Positive
SPEAKER_00Okay, all right. We've been hating too much. Let's go ahead and give one or two of our most favorite forms of entertainment. And I'll I'll start us off. One, I love going to concerts, and two, I love Universal Studios. That because you know what? Some people are gonna say, well, that's outside. Listen. Okay, so hold on, hold on, Jack. Let me quiet the haters down. There's places you can go though that are beautifully air conditioned. Oh, the bathrooms. Bathrooms. Bathrooms. When you're waiting in line, it's beautifully air conditioned. Oh, yes. A fair or an outdoor music festival or some kind of festival outdoors is not.
SPEAKER_02Well, and the difference is you're standing most of the time at a festival. At Universal, you're getting your steps in, you're walking around. So you're actually getting some exercise too. Oh, yeah, big time. Rach?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I mean, you guys know what I'm gonna say. I obviously agree with Universal Studios, but my favorite form of entertainment, of course, is reading. It's books. So and I don't hate on like read what you want to read. Like, I don't care, like if you want to read manga or fantasy or you know, eyebrow literature, whatever, but I thought I was your favorite form of entertainment. Awkward. Okay.
SPEAKER_00Oh boy.
SPEAKER_02But hot damn! Calvin. No, no, hot no, it's like hot damn, hot damn, hot damn, hot damn. Okay, Calvin Dodd. I would say my top two would be yeah, concerts and going to the movies.
SPEAKER_01Movies. Movies. Uh music, whether it's Spotify or my final records. Yeah. That's mine. I forgot about Spotify.
SPEAKER_00You forgot about Spotify? Yep. How? I don't know. And that is relatively terrible.
