The fastest way to learn who someone is? Put them on the spot with “favorite” questions and let the arguing begin. We open with what felt truly terrible this week, including our reaction to the live-action Moana trailer and an all-too-real dentist rant, then we hit the gas on a rapid-fire round that turns into a full personality reveal.
We trade picks for favorite movies, foods, and songs, bouncing from The Dark Knight to Back To The Future, from fried chicken and potatoes to anything Mexican, and from Alice Cooper to Underoath with a surprise shout for the Wallace & Gromit theme. Along the way, we get into holiday loyalty, boredom habits, and the kind of misheard lyrics debate that only happens when you’ve known each other forever. If you love funny conversation podcasts, sibling-style roasting, and pop culture opinions with zero filter, this one is built for you.
Then we go deeper without getting sappy: favorite family memories, Universal Studios nostalgia, inside jokes that never die, the best things we’ve filmed together, and the weird food combos we can’t explain but still stand by. We wrap by sharing what we actually like about ourselves and end on a “not so terrible” win from the week.

Moana Wig And Dentist Pain
SPEAKER_01Alright, so what was terrible this week? Oh, the live action Moana trailer came out. Oh my god. It looks terrible. Dwayne's wig, it just looks so bad.
SPEAKER_02Oh, you and the rocker on a first name basis? That's cool.
SPEAKER_01He was just saying his name, but the wig is just so bad. It's terrible. Everyone is hating on it. Is there anything terrible else terrible this week?
SPEAKER_03Um, I went to the dentist today. That was terrible. There are so many things I would rather.
SPEAKER_02You're asking if he danced for the dentist?
SPEAKER_03There's so many things I would rather do than the dentist. Like my jaw hurts right now. I just I hate everything about the dentist.
SPEAKER_02I never want to do a dentist either. I don't. She is not wildcasting right now.
SPEAKER_03Listen, this is like, yeah, you're just a lot right now.
SPEAKER_02Wow. I thought the drugs from the dentist would help.
SPEAKER_03Can we move on? I'm bored.
SPEAKER_02Damn. I am so not into you today. Anyways, I'm Josh.
SPEAKER_03I'm Rachel.
Favorite Movies Start The Draft
SPEAKER_02I'm Calvin. I'm Jackson. And this is relatively terrible. I love you, but you're all terrible. We're gonna be talking about all of our favorite things. We've got a ton of different categories. We've got a lot of them, so we're gonna get going here. What is your favorite movie of all time?
SPEAKER_00The Dark Knight. Best superhero movie ever. Heath Ledger, R.I.P., best villain of all time, personal opinion. After Walter White.
SPEAKER_01Godzilla King of the Monsters.
SPEAKER_03Oh.
SPEAKER_01It's a good action movie. I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna recency bias, but I'll say Project Hail Mary right now.
SPEAKER_02Favorite movie of all time.
SPEAKER_03Maybe, maybe. Could be recency bias. Is that like Godzilla minus one or the Royal Tenant Bombs? I don't know. Too many good ones. It's hard to have an all-time favorite.
SPEAKER_02Dang. Favorite movie of all time. I'm gonna have to go with Back to the Future.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02Because everyone knew that.
SPEAKER_03You were either gonna do that or Crowdy Kid.
SPEAKER_02Cratty Kid, as I've gotten older, I realized how flawed it is. Yeah, it's good, but no. And Project Hail Mary, it's probably gonna end up taking the top spot once I see it about six or seven more times.
SPEAKER_03Got it. Okay.
Foods We’d Eat Forever
SPEAKER_02Okay, question two. Question two. What is your favorite food?
SPEAKER_00Damn.
SPEAKER_03How do you know? Oh my god.
SPEAKER_00Oh, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. This is easy. Never mind. Thanksgiving. Okay. Fried chicken. Shocker.
SPEAKER_03Potatoes. Always. Like any way you can serve them.
SPEAKER_00You were either gonna say potatoes or pie. It was either gonna be one of those.
Favorite Songs And Misheard Lyrics
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna go anything Mexican. And Rachel knows this, but if she happens to pass away before me, I'm going to marry a Mexican woman who can cook Mexican food. My other favorite is chicken colors. There it's also fried chicken. We know you love chicken. What is your favorite? Do not take more than a second answering this, any of you. What is your favorite song of all time? Oh, Feed My Frankenstein.
SPEAKER_00Bye? Alice Cooper. Okay. That one, every time I hear it, I turn it up.
SPEAKER_03Just say a dance given dance song, Calvin.
SPEAKER_00We know this is one of those such your heart. That one's even harder. But I just Whoa, hey, yo.
SPEAKER_02Say Zephany, my favorite songs that makes me harder.
SPEAKER_01The say Zeppelin song. I'm just kidding. Oh, I know about it. I know. This is the Wallace and Gromet theme song.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh, Calvin.
SPEAKER_02Okay, Rage.
SPEAKER_03Um, I don't really have one. I guess I'll say Mercedes Babies by House of Heroes.
SPEAKER_02Oh, wow. Okay, favorite song of all time for me is going to be Dais Nuts.
SPEAKER_01That's taking more than a second.
SPEAKER_02It's dangerous business walking out your front door by under oath. Oh.
SPEAKER_00Yes, good enough. Okay. Is that the Drowning in my sea?
SPEAKER_02I literally just re-listened to that album, too, during school. Because there's reinventing your exit, and then there's that song, and I think it that's the one that includes the drowning in my sleep, and that's my one of my favorite parts of the side.
SPEAKER_00Wait, Drowning in my sleep or drowning in my sea? Sleep. In my sleep. Oh, I always thought it was Drowning in my sea. So you thought the guy in the song owned a sea?
Holiday Picks And Boredom Habits
SPEAKER_02Interesting. Okay, next one. What is your favorite holiday? Favorite. Oh. Thanksgiving. Quimish. Christmas. Christmas. Quimmish. Followed closely by Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. All right. What is your favorite thing to do when you're bored? Remember, this is a PG13 podcast.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So all you 16-year-olds don't say, oh, play with my lotion.
SPEAKER_02Okay. It's our go, go. This is our best episode ever.
SPEAKER_01Alright, Jackson. Okay. Uh, yeah, listening to music or reading manga. Or playing with my lotion.
SPEAKER_03Reading.
Family Memories That Still Hit
SPEAKER_02I love walking and listening to audiobooks while I walk because it makes me feel smarter. Anyway. That's the press on. What is your favorite family memory?
SPEAKER_00The Christmas where you told us we were going to Grand Country. I remember that very clearly. Grant Country! Grand Country.
SPEAKER_01Alright, Cal. Uh going of the first time. Uh the first time writing the Harry Potter Green Gotch wide. I thought I was not gonna wipe it, but then I really wiped it.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02Rage? Rach.
SPEAKER_03This is hard to choose, but I do think the very first time we went to Universal Studios, and then the very first time we rode E.T. Ooh. Because I rode that as a kid. Show peak. And so I needed that ride to like live up to my memory, live up to past expectations, and I was very nervous for all of you to like it. Um, which it it did all of those things.
SPEAKER_02So, yes, for me, the first time going to Universal, I'll never forget that because I never thought we'd be able to do anything like that, honestly. I never thought we'd have the money. Also, just yeah, riding that ride and twofold, it was also a great uploads of fun memory because I remember being recognized so many times. Oh my god. Oh, yeah. And you finally being like, oh uploads of fun, I guess it's pretty popular.
SPEAKER_03That's not true.
Snacks TV And Family Traits
SPEAKER_02You're still a dick talented. What? My husband's actually talented. Damn. I like that. I like that. That was perfect. That was perfect. Okay. What is your favorite snack?
SPEAKER_00Ooh, popcorn, cheez-its, chips, and dip.
SPEAKER_01Come on, daddy. We had a roll! We had a flow. And then him. What a snack.
SPEAKER_00Oh, come on. Oh, protein bars. Anything that's high in protein, low and carbon in fiber.
SPEAKER_03Really? This is gonna be our top topic.
SPEAKER_02I hope whatever you three eat tonight, including you, Rachel, gives you diarrhea. Okay. My favorite snack of all time is Fool Ranch Doritos. Okay, cool. Yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_00What is your favorite TV show? Breaking Bad. Uh Phoenicia Ferg.
SPEAKER_03I I think I think I gotta say Bob's Burgers, but uh, it's like the earlier seasons. Later stuff is more hit and miss. But yeah, Bob's burgers.
SPEAKER_02Well, I think I'm gonna have to say the office. Classic. Next question is what is your favorite thing about this family? We we are very opinionated.
SPEAKER_01We actually love each other. My dad didn't leave.
SPEAKER_02Damn. Wow. Sorry for all the people where your dad did leave.
SPEAKER_00He wins.
SPEAKER_03Um I I think how sarcastic we are and uh just constantly making jokes at each other and ripping on each other's is it?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. All those. Plus, I love how we're trying to be. This is gonna sound really self-righteous, but I love how we're trying to be sort of a new breed of Christian. Um, we're not trying to be Christian douchebags.
SPEAKER_00So I feel like we're really What the hell are the hand signals for? What was I doing?
SPEAKER_02Anyways, let's move on.
SPEAKER_03Remember, this is a podcast. People listen. Not everyone's gonna see whatever it is you're doing.
Trips Desserts And Inside Jokes
SPEAKER_02What is your favorite vacation or place you've been? Ooh. Austin, Texas. Universal.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, universal.
SPEAKER_02Universal Studios, 100%.
SPEAKER_03I love Austin though. Let's go.
SPEAKER_02Wow. What is your favorite dessert? Ooh. Uh broke the flow, Jackson.
SPEAKER_00Broke, no. Oh, I don't mind pudding. Bread pudding. What red pudding? I said bread pudding. What is red pudding? Just bread pudding.
SPEAKER_01Mom's homemade cake.
unknownOoh.
SPEAKER_01Ooh, the cake with the chocolate frosting.
SPEAKER_03Okay. Uh, I love pie. Nearly any kind of pie.
SPEAKER_01A number, mom.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Wow. If I had my way, I would love a whole plate of chocolate chip cookies and milk without the chocolate chips.
SPEAKER_03That is so weird.
SPEAKER_02I just like they're so good.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh, okay. What is your favorite inside joke that we have?
SPEAKER_00They're all references from TV and shows.
SPEAKER_03That's it, isn't it? It's always like just I think it's all the random, it's all the movie quotes or TV show quotes.
SPEAKER_00Alright, so just say one. Hi, I'm Doug. I like long walks on the beach and bags of pork rinds. Nice.
SPEAKER_01Uh that's a great one. How we make fun of Jackson for listening to music that's really old.
SPEAKER_03Fair enough.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that is true. Oh, now I need to think more along those lines. Um, I know. It's all just the random TV show quotes, you know. You can't see. You can't see.
SPEAKER_00Yes, just all the quotes.
SPEAKER_03Constantly.
SPEAKER_02I think it's how we constantly rip on you for books. That's my favorite.
unknownYeah.
Childhood Toys And Complaint Fuel
SPEAKER_02I'm sorry. Okay, we're gonna move on before she gets even more mad at me. What is your favorite toy or thing you had as a kid?
SPEAKER_00I had the stuffed animal. Uh I had one giraffe, and then I also had one elephant. Oh, yeah. I always remember those two.
SPEAKER_03The elephant came from the Cleveland Zoo. I don't remember where the giraffe came from, but you carried the giraffe around so much that in his neck, like the stuffing separated from where he held it. Yeah, like it was indented there.
SPEAKER_02What about the shark two from IKEA?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, he didn't carry that around as much though.
SPEAKER_02I remember that.
SPEAKER_03That didn't leave the house though, but the you always had the giraffe or the elephant elephant with you.
SPEAKER_02Calvin? Anyway. Uh my bourgeois year toy that I had. Say it again because it sounded like your Budweiser toy. My no, say it normal. Your butt light year toy.
SPEAKER_01No, my budge light year toy. My Budweiser toy. That's that's Budge Lightyear. That's amazing. Okay, now my favorite toy. Could you go through a bunch and he would talk? Okay. You guys should do a winter. Please save us.
SPEAKER_03When I was a kid, I was the flower girl in my aunt and uncle's wedding, and they gifted me a clock. And I think it's like precious moments, I'm not sure. Uh, and I I still have that clock that was always up on my shelves. Oh wow.
unknownCan't wait.
SPEAKER_03What?
SPEAKER_02Okay, I had a toy called a glow worm. And you would you would squeeze it and it lit up. Fun fact, when you took out the thing that lit up, it looked like something really sus. Oh my think about that now. I didn't think about that when I was a kid, thank God. Oh my gosh. But my glow worm. Okay. What is your favorite thing to complain about? Oh, school. Uh, Fortnite.
SPEAKER_03Everything. I if that if it exists, I'll complain about it.
SPEAKER_02Other drivers. Ooh. Yeah. Alright, next. What is your favorite restaurant?
SPEAKER_00Mr. Hero. Hot Dottie.
SPEAKER_03Flight.
Best Things We’ve Filmed Together
SPEAKER_02Ooh. Chipotle. That was terrible. Okay. What is your favorite thing we've ever filmed together?
SPEAKER_00Oh, when we did the ad for Live Nation when we went to go see Alice Cooper. That was awesome.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna say uh me talking about saving the slaves. Okay.
SPEAKER_03I mean, I think it's awkward questions, just consistently.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I've got two. The the time machine question where Calvin said he was gonna save the slaves is probably to the slaves. That was amazing. And then the other thing I really loved Transsiberian Orchestra. Oh, that was great. Like that was an ad that we we did and for Live Nation as well. But it was really fun and really great to finally be able to see Transsiberian Orchestra. It's not something I would like actually go do, and now I think I might for Christmas.
SPEAKER_03I've loved all the Uncle Ray stuff you guys have done. All those potato chips in the house. Yeah, that's pretty great.
Weird Food Combos We Defend
SPEAKER_02We're hopefully gonna do more Uncle Ray's stuff. Uncle Ray's sponsor used. Yeah. Okay. What is your favorite weird food combo? Jackson. I like uh pickles and peanut butter.
SPEAKER_01Wow. Uh goldfish and chocolate pudding. I freaking knew it.
SPEAKER_03And kindergarten, that's mine is not a weird combo, but it's weird the way I like to eat it. Because I love chips and dip. But I just did this last night. Well, my favorite thing to do is when you get like all the crumbs at the bottom of the bag, is you just pour them in a bowl and you put in the chip dip and you just mix it and like then eat it with a spoon, like it's cereal.
What We Like About Ourselves
SPEAKER_02I like hot dogs and glazed donuts. All right. What? Do I have a weird food combo? Not really. I don't really think that I do. Uh okay. What is your favorite thing about yourself? Ooh, my taste in music. My neck beard. Okay. That's not something we probably. It's not. Rach.
SPEAKER_03I mean, I What are you, an emo kid?
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Come my life in the past.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. I don't know. I love the diary.
SPEAKER_03I I am good with words. Like I'm writing, editing mostly editing kind of, you know. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I can't talk apparently though, so that's what you get for making fun of me. That's what you get.
SPEAKER_03I didn't really think.
SPEAKER_02I'm sure the world has a word for that, but I'm not gonna use it.
SPEAKER_03Okay, go ahead.
SPEAKER_02My favorite thing about myself is being able to talk to anyone and just, you know, kind of automatically give a person respect and dignity as soon as I meet them without completely 100% judging them. Unless they're driving.
SPEAKER_01And then I'm like, then it all goes out the door. Okay, what's the next question?
Weekly Wins And Sign-Off
SPEAKER_03That's it.
SPEAKER_02So what was not so terrible from this past week?
SPEAKER_00Uh seeing Project Hail Mary for the second time in theaters. That was great. What was good? Well, not only seeing it in theaters, but then afterwards getting Chipotle. That Chipotle was great. Shut up, Calvin.
SPEAKER_01I got Taco Bell. It was, and it was a it was a deal that my mom got. It was a tolupa, uh a regular taco, five chicken nuggies, fries, and a side of ranch.
SPEAKER_02I like how he says it like you're a Taco Bell informant. It was a deal that my mom got. Yeah. She was like she like negotiated it with Taco Bell. She's like, this dinner's for my son. My son. You will give him the extra kilouba.
SPEAKER_00I fought for this country.
SPEAKER_02But it was good though. So now I feel like everyone out there knows us a little bit better. Maybe more than they want to. And that's relatively terrible.
